Each year, during our application period, Wai’alae School offers Informational Sessions so that parents/guardians can learn more about our school and see if we’re the right fit for their child and for their family.
Students enrolled in our Preschool program are not automatically enrolled/advanced to Kindergarten when they become eligible for Kindergarten. Therefore, a new Student Application Form must be submitted. As a reminder, if your child does not reside in our service area (i.e. district), then applications are due before in district students.
Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child in Wai’alae School’s Preschool Program! Our Preschool program is authorized through Act 46 of the 2020 Hawai’i State Legislative Session and falls under the oversight of the Hawai’i State Public Charter School Commission. This is a tuition-free program, but there may be fees or costs associated with school meals and school activities.
For 4-year-old children, their birthday must fall on or between August 1, 2021 and July 31, 2022.
For 3-year-old children, their birthday must fall on or between August 1, 2022 and July 31, 2023.
*Child MUST BE TOILET-TRAINED before their first day on campus.
*We are not able to offer before-school care or after school care for our Preschoolers. (Our Preschoolers' day begins at 8:15am and ends at 2:15pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and at 1:30pm on Wednesdays.)
The first application deadline is 4:00pm on Tuesday March 31, 2026.
Please note that the completed Application Form AND the child's birth certificate must be submitted, in person, to the Wai'alae School Office. Applications and birth certificates will ONLY BE ACCEPTED IN PERSON.
Selection for enrollment will be determined by a lottery that is to be conducted by Wai'alae School in April 2026. All completed and eligible Applications that are received by Wai'alae School before 4:00pm on Tuesday March 31, 2026 will be included in the lottery.
