At Wai’alae, we know that access to free early learning can make a difference in a child’s education. Furthermore, the high quality whole-child learning that only Wai’alae provides forms the perfect foundation for a new and innovative early learning center.
Our children’s brains are developing fastest in their most early years. Engaging young brains in literature, numbers, art, music, movement, and the world around gives students a tangible acceleration in learning.
We hope that you are able to join us in the 2018-2019 school year.
Chief Educational Officer / Head of School
Aloha Interested Family,
Thank you for considering Wai’alae School’s early learning program for your child !
This program is being funded through a U.S. Department of Education Preschool Development Grant and enrollment selection is based upon age eligibility and income eligibility. Please take a few moments to read this letter from Mr. Sione Thompson, State Public Charter School Commission Executive Director, which describes the eligibility requirements in detail.
If you feel that your child would qualify for Wai’alae School’s early learning program in the 2018-2019 school year, please complete the application packet that contains the forms shown below.
Please note that the Student Health Record (Form 14) and the Early Childhood Pre-K Health Record Supplement are forms that are to be completed by your child’s physician.

Bring/return the completed application packet, along with your child’s original State-issued Birth Certificate and your income verification documents, to the Wai’alae School Office STARTING ON JANUARY 2, 2018. Applications will not be accepted prior to January 2, 2018.
Our Office is open on school days, from 7:30am to 4:00pm, with the exception of Fridays, when Office hours are 7:30am to 11:30am and then 12:30pm to 4pm.
A first selection of applicants will be conducted on Friday April 6, 2018 at 3:30pm. At that time, if we have more applicants than spaces available, a lottery will be conducted to select those applicants who will be offered a seat in the program. Those who are not selected will be placed on a waitlist. If we have fewer applicants than spaces available, all eligible applicants will be accepted and a second selection will be conducted on Friday May 4, 2018.
