2018-2019 SY Admissions (Kindergarten to Grade 5)

Here is an overview of our admissions/enrollment process for the 2018-2019 school year, for new enrollments in Kindergarten through Grade 5:

  • Parent or legal guardian attends one of our Wai’alae School Orientations.  See schedule of Orientations below. (Families who have a child enrolled at Wai’alae in a grade that is not Preschool in the current school year may skip attending an Orientation.)
  • Parent or legal guardian completes and submits Wai’alae School Student Application Form.  Click on the link below to be taken to the application form:

2018-2019 Wai’alae School Application Form (Kindergarten through Grade 5)

  • Submission Deadlines:
    • Application Forms for students who do not live within Wai’alae’s “district”, but who currently have a sibling enrolled at Wai’alae School (in Kindergarten through Grade 5), must be submitted no later than Friday February 16, 2018 to receive priority consideration.   Application Forms received after February 16, 2018 will be included in the general pool.
    • Application Forms for students who do not live within Wai’alae’s “district”, but whose parent is currently employed by Wai’alae School, must be submitted no later than Friday February 16, 2018 to receive priority consideration.  Application Forms received after February 16, 2018 will be included in the general pool.
    • Application Forms for students who do not live within Wai’alae’s “district” must be submitted no later than 11:59pm Thursday March 1, 2018 to be included in the general pool lottery (if one needs to be conducted.)  Application Forms received after March 1, 2018 will be added to any waitlist that is generated by the general pool lottery.
    • There is no deadline for Application Forms for students who live within Wai’alae’s “district.”
  • Notification:
    • If Application is accepted, Parent/Legal Guardian will be notified via email and/or phone of the acceptance and will be asked to complete the Student Enrollment Form and provide any required documentation.
    • For students who live within Wai’alae’s “district”, notification will be made (as much as possible) within 10 working days of application being approved/enrollment accepted.
    • For students who do not live within Wai’alae’s “district”, but who have a sibling currently enrolled at Wai’alae School (in Kindergarten through Grade 5) or whose parent is currently employed by Wai’alae School, notification of acceptance will be made no earlier than Thursday March 1, 2018.  Once notified of the acceptance, the Parent/Legal Guardian has 10 working days to complete the Student Enrollment Form and provide any required documentation, or the acceptance may be rescinded.
    • For students who do not live within Wai’alae’s “district” and whose Application is included in the general pool lottery, notification of acceptance will not be earlier than Friday March 16, 2018, but could be as late as mid-July 2018.  Once notified of the acceptance, the Parent/Legal Guardian has 10 working days to complete the Student Enrollment Form and provide any required documentation, or the acceptance may be rescinded.

ORIENTATIONS/TOURS (Kindergarten through Grade 5)

We highly recommend that only parents/adult the Orientation/Tour.

*Parents who have a child enrolled at Wai’alae School (in Kindergarten through Grade 5) in the current school year may forego attending an Orientation/Tour.*
